CBD Questions & Answers.

What is the shelf life of Hemp Oil products?

We guarantee our products to stay fresh for a shelf life of 18 months, unopened. Once opened, we recommend consuming the product within 3-6 months for optimal freshness and quality. However, there is no reason to stop consuming the product if it still smells and tastes fresh. Our products have been known to taste and smell fresh for over 2 years when stored correctly.

The best way to store hemp food products is in a cool, dry, dark place. Heat, sunlight and humidity can cause rancidity and spoilage, so ideally the fridge or freezer is best. Our cold-pressed hemp seed oil is high in unsaturated fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids) which means that it is very easily oxidized and can go rancid if stored incorrectly. Once you notice any rancid smells, it is time to buy a new product.

Do I need to refrigerate Hemp Oil products?

For maximum freshness, opened hemp products and ingredients should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

For the final consumer, we recommend hemp oil to be refrigerated before and after opening to protect hemp’s precious omegas.

To extend the freshness of Hemp Oil hemp protein powders, it is recommended to store products in the fridge once opened.

Do Hemp Oil products contain any known allergens?

There are no known allergens found in hemp foods and Hemp Oil products are made at a hemp-dedicated, allergen-free facility.

If your diet lacks in fibre, consuming toasted or protein powder may take your body a bit of time to get used to this increase in fibre.

Are Hemp Oil products gluten free?

Hemp seed is naturally gluten-free however cross-contamination can occur at the field level during handling, transportation and storage. CBD Health conducts regular gluten testing on seed lots for quality assurance at a gluten content limit of <20ppm which is the acceptable threshold by the World Health Organization (WHO) for a gluten-free claim.

Where do I find the amino acid profile for your hemp protein powders?

Please reach out to your Ingredient Specialist or Customer Care Representative for more detailed specification information.

Why is there a variance in green colour in hemp seed oil? Is an extreme colour a problem?

Rest assured that a lighter or darker green colour is still characteristic of high-quality oil.

Hemp seed oil is cold pressed and with this processing technique, much of the chlorophyll from the raw hemp seed makes its way to the oil. High-quality hemp seed oil can range in colour from light to dark green in colour depending on the seed itself. The maturity of the seeds at harvest can also lead to variation in the deepness of the green in the oil.
